Over thirty years ago I learned a lesson about life which has prompted me to start Philly Girl Friday. My grandmother was in her eighties and was no longer able to walk the mile to the grocery store by herself. She needed help from someone who was patient with her octogenarian pace, and with a bit of assistance grandma remained an active participant in life. She didn't lose hope when she couldn't change the light bulb over the dining room table. She knew there was a helper coming by.
This was the best service I could give my grandmother, and ever since then I have jumped at the opportunity to assist others who are either too frail or just too busy to do their errands themselves.
